This was a much better day then yesterday. The rain had stopped. We went on session with Ryan. After leaving our camp we took a right turn at junction 18. We scanned for all the animals but most of them didn’t gave a signal. This meant we drove on to the south. We saw a special bird you normally don’t see. It was a red-chested cuckoo
When we came through the Mpila resort we went up to the top on this hill: Mpila Hill. Almost a 360° view. A wonderful spot to have morning tea. Whilst I was walking around to take some photo’s I found 2 cards, one a bank card and the other for the train in Joburg. They appeared to be Fi’s. She had lost them over a month ago. Ryan was so surprised when I showed them to him.
After our little break we got back on the road, but not for long. A visit of the curious shop was part of the plan. After this we had signal from cheetah CM14. We followed one of the maintenance roads. Wow what was the view stunning. This one ended on the corridor road in between Imfolozi and Hluhluwe. Our search took us back into Imfolozi but we were only able to locate it by triangulation. Back to the camp. Some more animals crossed our path including a whole swarm of flying ants an a baby white rhino who almost collided with our car. Just before we reached the camp we came across the Sontuli pride (lions). They were resting there but there were so many cars in line that Ryan decided to drive on. After 7 hours we arrived back home.

In the camp we made pancakes for lunch because there was no more bread. By now they have discovered I’m not as bad as a cook I tell I am.
For the first time in my life I participated in fitness exercises with Emilie and Estelle. In the end I was sweating and tiered but no muscle ace. So all is good. But then the worst part is jet to come. Taking a shower when you know you’ll have cold water only. This is because the solar panels didn’t get enough sunlight to heat up the water. I boiled some water to rinse my hair out. The thought of doing this has put me of for more than a week. In the end it wasn’t that bad at all. Worrying for nothing is my speciality.

Fi took us out for our afternoon session. First we went to see the Sontuli pride. Then we had a look if we could find an injured lion. Jed had beaten us to it but it was such an impressive sighting. He just lay there with out getting up. After a while we left to find the wild dogs. We drove on this bumpy road of Friday and this was kind of tricky because the road was wet. In the end we made it. Not long after we gotten back on the main road we found Neni and Ndaba. It looked like they had been eating and Ndaba her leg was better then a few days before. We stayed with them for a while and then drove back to the Sontuli pride. The lions were awake. Some were climbing trees, playing resting, walking around. A busy bunch.
Back to the male lion. He was still at the same spot we left him earlier. He didn’t move much so back to the pride again. This time it was getting darker and left him after another 10 minutes to go back to the pride. It was such an amazing experience. After being done with the playing the lions started to get up and walk on. When we drove past (1,5 meter) some of them they had this killer look in hear eyes. Like we would make a good appetizer. Wow how cool was this. One of my best experiences so far.
