This morning I woke up at 4.30. I decided to do so to finish some tasks that I still had to do. It was a nice and relaxing morning. I had my suite cases packed on time, my jumper finally dried and I had a lovely breakfast.

Marlies brought me to the airport. Here I checked in and my bags were send on to Mahé without me picking them up in between. This was so much easier.

The plane was a bit late but boarding went smoothly.

I was sad to leave Richards Bay because it meant the end of 12 wonderful weeks. I hope I can come back and spend some more time in this great aria.

The flight was good and no problems on the way. Getting from one site of the airport to the other was not too bad either. I bought myself the Roberts bird book. I checked it out on line and I found out that if I would order it online at home it would be 4x as expensive then when I would by it here. That was an easy choice.

I walked to my gate very early and found that the whole gate A00 was empty with lots of power plugs around. It was so nice and quiet that I decided to settle down and do some work on my laptop. It was wonderful that a busy airport like this could still be this quiet.

The boarding went smoothly and I had a back row seat. The chair next to me was empty what has it advantages. The third seat was occupied by a man called Michel Elisabeth. He works for immigrations at the Seychelles. He told me I was very lucky to spend 4 weeks at the North Island because it is a very exclusive Island were only very rich people go. This put a very big smile on my face. We talked a few times and when we disembarked he gave me his card in case I got in in trouble. This was nice.

There was a 2 hour time difference with South Africa and 3 with the Netherlands.

The airport was small and luggage came quickly. When I walked outside I was supposed to be picked up by Richard. I couldn’t find him at first but there was a guy holding a sign with North Island on it. This was him and he brought me to the Jamelah Beach guest house. A different place than I had booked but apparently the other place had transferred me here. We had to knock on the door to get someone to sign me in and take me to my room. Wow this was very luxurious. But I can live with this.

I went to bed at 10 pm. I was just exhausted.
